Privacy policy

What jam collects, why, who it's shared with and how to exercise your rights. In plain words.

Last updated:

1. Data controller

jam is published by Elokan CS (Douala, Cameroon). For any question about your data: contact@elokancs.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Identity and contact: name, email, phone.
  • Account: encrypted password, or Google identifier if you sign in with Google.
  • Location: city, address and, if you allow it, your position for nearby search.
  • Providers: NIU (or national tax ID), profile, cover and service photos.
  • Booking without an account: the name and mobile number provided, and a private access link to the booking.
  • Bookings, reviews, support conversations, in-app notifications (payments, refunds).
  • Programs: loyalty points and history, rewards requested, referral links (referrer-referred, provider-referral, client-recommended provider) and, for anti-fraud, a hashed fingerprint of the sign-up address (never the address itself).
  • Payments: amount, commission, mobile money operator and transaction reference.
  • Conversations with the AI assistants (Manou) when you use them.

3. What we don't store

jam never stores your mobile money PIN or operator credentials. Payments are processed by our payment aggregator (PawaPay), under its own responsibility.

4. Purposes

Creating and securing your account; connecting clients and providers; processing bookings and payments; showing nearby pros; providing support; measuring audience if you agree; meeting our legal obligations.

5. Processors

Your data is never sold. It is shared only with the providers needed to run the service:

  • PawaPay — mobile money payments.
  • Supabase — database and file storage.
  • Vercel — website and app hosting.
  • Resend — sending emails (address verification, notifications).
  • Google — sign-in with a Google account, if you choose this option.
  • Anthropic — processing messages sent to the AI assistants (Manou).

Some of these providers are located outside Cameroon (notably in the United States).

6. Cookies and trackers

Strictly necessary cookies are used for sign-in, security (CSRF protection), your language and display theme. They don't require your consent.

Audience measurement (a random identifier stored on your device to count visits) is only enabled with your consent, collected through the banner shown on your first visit. Your choice is kept for 6 months. You can change it anytime via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Embedded YouTube videos use the “nocookie” mode.

7. Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When it's deleted, data is erased, or anonymised when accounting and tax obligations require keeping transaction history.

Booking without an account: the name and number are kept with the booking for as long as needed for the appointment, the payment and accounting obligations, unless you attach the booking to an account.

8. Security

Encrypted passwords, HTTPS connections, restricted data access, security headers and database access control.

9. Your rights

Under Cameroonian law no. 2010/012 on cybersecurity and cybercrime, and the GDPR where it applies, you have the right to access, rectify, object to and delete your data.

You can delete your account from your profile, or exercise your rights by writing to contact@elokancs.com.

10. Android app

The jam Android app gives direct access to jamfeeling.com and applies the same policy.
